Soundboards

Soundboards is a sound bank: a set of sound effects that viewers can play through TikTok events, or that you can play yourself with a keyboard shortcut.

What Soundboards is

It differs from Play Audio in the Interaction Center in two ways:

  1. It works from your phone without an overlay. It is the only IndoFinity sound feature that doesn't need a Browser Source, which makes it a good fit for streamers who go live straight from a phone.
  2. It has keyboard shortcuts. You can play sounds yourself without opening the dashboard.
When to use Soundboards and when to use the Interaction Center

If you go live from your phone, or you only need simple sound effects, use Soundboards.

If you already use OBS or TikTok Live Studio and want sounds combined with alerts, images, or video, the Interaction Center does more. The dashboard recommends the same.

Setup steps

1. Add a soundboard

Each soundboard has:

FieldWhat it does
Soundboard NameLabel shown in the list
TriggerThe TikTok event that plays it. Required
AudioThe sound file (pick an existing one or upload your own)
VolumeVolume for this sound
ShortcutKeyboard key combination. Optional
Same trigger = random pick

If several soundboards use the same trigger, only one plays, chosen at random. This is an easy way to add variety so the same sound doesn't repeat over and over.

Shortcuts only work in the desktop app

A browser can't capture keys while its window isn't focused. Shortcuts only work through the IndoFinity desktop app.

If shortcuts don't work while you're playing a game, the dashboard suggests opening the IndoFinity app with Run as Administrator.

2. Set the queue behavior

In the Settings section:

SettingWhat it does
Enable Trigger (all)Turns all triggers on or off at once
Enable Shortcut (all)Turns all shortcuts on or off at once
Queue ModeDecides how sounds queue
Maximum QueueMaximum queue length

The two queue modes:

ModeBehavior
GlobalAll sounds wait in one shared queue
By TriggerEach trigger has its own queue
By Trigger mode for busy lives

With a global queue, one trigger that fires a lot can fill the queue and hold up every other sound. A queue per trigger makes sure each event type still gets its turn.

3. Prepare an emergency stop

Stop Sounds stops the soundboard that is playing, along with its queue. Triggers stay active, so the next event plays as usual.

There is also a Stop Sounds Shortcut that you can set yourself.

Set this shortcut before you go live

If a viewer keeps triggering a sound until it gets annoying, you need to stop it quickly, not while hunting for the dashboard tab. This shortcut makes it a single key press.

Soundboard presets

You can save different soundboard layouts as Presets and switch between them for different kinds of live. The default preset is called Default.

Free limits

Free accounts are limited to 5 soundboards and 1 preset. When you hit the limit, you'll see: "You have reached the maximum number of soundboards."

See Free Limits and Add-ons.

Common problems

Symptom: shortcuts don't work while gaming. Open the IndoFinity app with Run as Administrator. A game running as administrator blocks input from regular apps.

Symptom: a shortcut is rejected when you save it. The message is "This shortcut is already used by another soundboard." or "Invalid shortcut." Choose a different combination.

Symptom: no sound plays at all. Check that Enable Trigger (all) is on and that your TikTok live is connected.

Symptom: sounds play late, long after the event. The queue is backed up. Lower Maximum Queue, or switch to the By Trigger queue mode.
