YouTube Music Song Request

Viewers request songs in the comments, IndoFinity plays them from YouTube, and the title shows on the overlay. You stay in control through playlists, a blacklist, and queue limits.

What is Song Request

It lets viewers help pick the music on your live. Their requests go into a queue they can see, so they wait for their song to come up, and that keeps people around longer.

Before you start

Your TikTok Live has to be connected. Free accounts are limited to 5 playlists and 30 songs per playlist. See Free Limits and Subscription Add-ons.

Three main tabs

TabContents
PlaylistsMusic lists you prepare yourself
Song RequestsThe queue and history of viewer requests
BlacklistsSongs that can't be requested

Setup steps

1. Choose who can request

In the Settings section, pick the target. If none is selected, you'll see "Please select at least 1." and no requests come in.

2. Set the limits

SettingWhat it does
Maximum song queue (total)Caps the length of the whole queue
Maximum song queue per userStops one person from filling the queue
Maximum played durationLong songs are skipped automatically after a set number of minutes
Allow ExplicitAllows songs with explicit content
The per-user limit matters most

Without it, one eager viewer can fill the whole queue and nobody else gets a turn.

The duration limit only applies to viewer requests

The dashboard note says the duration limit "only applies to viewer-requested songs". Songs from your own playlist play in full.

3. Add the overlay

Open the YouTube Music menu in the dashboard, find the Install Overlay in OBS / TikTok Live Studio card, and copy the overlay link. Paste it as a Browser Source in OBS, or add it through Add Source → Link in TikTok Live Studio, at 1920 × 1080.

Use the Customize button on the same card to change how this overlay looks.

Never installed an overlay before? Read Installing Overlays in OBS & TikTok Live Studio first. It walks through each step.

SettingWhat it does
Show overlay permanentlyThe overlay is always visible
When turned offViewers type !music to show it for 10 seconds

Three overlay themes

ThemeStyleCustomize support
Classic DefaultBuilt-in themeSupports all settings
Glass ThemeTransparent and modernSome settings have no effect
Retro ThemeClassic pixel styleSome settings have no effect
Each theme has its own link

You don't switch to an alternative theme with a button. You copy that theme's link and add it as a Browser Source. Changing the theme means changing the link in OBS.

The dashboard also warns that some Customize settings have no effect on Glass and Retro.

Managing the queue

The Queue tab shows the play order from top to bottom. Drag a row to reorder it.

If rows won't drag

Turn off column sorting and search first. The dashboard tells you: "Clear the column sorting and the search box to reorder the queue."

ButtonWhat it does
Delete FinishedClears songs that have already played
Clear queueRemoves everything waiting in the queue. The song playing now isn't removed
Add all to queueAdds the whole playlist to the end of the queue

When you add a playlist to the queue, you can choose Shuffle while adding and Add only a range.

The history only shows the last 50.

Why a song didn't play

The history table gives the reason:

NoteMeaning
Song is in the blacklistYou blocked it
This video is a livestreamYouTube lives can't be played
The owner of this video does not allow videos to be played other than the original YouTubeA restriction set by the copyright owner, outside IndoFinity's control
The third reason can't be worked around

If many requests fail because of the video owner's restriction, point viewers to other songs. No setting can unlock them.

Managing playlists

FeatureWhat it does
New PlaylistCreates a playlist. Titles can be up to 30 characters
Add MusicSearch by title, or paste a video link or playlist link
Clone SongCopies a song to another playlist
Move SongMoves a song from one playlist to another
Global searchSearches for songs across all playlists at once
youtu.be links aren't supported

Use the long youtube.com link format.

Blacklist

Viewers can't request songs that are in Blacklists. Add them by title, video link, or playlist link.

Common problems

Symptom: viewer requests don't come in at all. Check that a target is selected in Settings and that the queue limit hasn't been reached.

Symptom: a playlist is marked inactive. The message is: "This playlist is not active, please extend your subscription to activate it again." You've gone over the free account limit.

Symptom: a warning says your device was detected as a bot. Log in to the YouTube page, as the dashboard suggests.

Symptom: the overlay doesn't show. If Show overlay permanently is off, the overlay only shows for 10 seconds after someone types !music.
