Spin Roulette
Spin Roulette is a prize wheel that appears on your live screen. You fill in the prizes, then spin it yourself from the dashboard or let viewers spin it through gifts, likes, follows, comments, and donations.
What is Spin Roulette
A regular giveaway draws a person. Spin Roulette draws a prize or a challenge. For example: a viewer sends a certain gift, the wheel spins, and the result decides what you do next (play a horror game, do push-ups, switch characters).
The wheel panel only appears in OBS while a draw is running, then disappears on its own once the winner card has been shown. It doesn't take up the screen for the whole live.
Before you start
Spinning by hand from the dashboard has no requirements. For automatic triggers from viewers, your TikTok Live has to be connected.
Setup steps
1. Fill the wheel
In the Wheel Items section, click Add Item. Each item has four settings:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Prize name | The text shown, for example Play a horror game. Required |
| Color | The item's color, or Random |
| Weight | How often this item comes up |
| Interaction on win | Optional. The Interaction that runs as soon as the wheel stops on this item |
An item with weight 2 comes up twice as often as an item with weight 1. You don't need to make the total add up to 100.
An item with weight 0 still shows on the wheel but never wins. You can use it to tempt viewers with a prize that looks available, but be careful with it. If viewers find out, it damages their trust.
The item color is always used in the winner popup. On the Claw Machine and Fishing Draw designs, it also colors the prize itself on stage.
2. Pick a design
Click Change Design to open the Draw Design Gallery, which has 11 wheel styles. It has its own page: Draw Design Gallery.
3. Install the overlay
Open the Spin Roulette menu in the dashboard, find the Install Overlay in OBS / TikTok Live Studio card, and copy the overlay link. Paste it as a Browser Source in OBS, or add it through Add Source → Link in TikTok Live Studio, at 1920 × 1080.
Use the Customize button on the same card to change how this overlay looks.
Never installed an overlay before? Read Installing Overlays in OBS & TikTok Live Studio first. It walks through each step.
4. Spin
The SPIN THE WHEEL button in the Controls section spins it right away. You need at least one item.
Automatic triggers from viewers
Without automatic triggers, the wheel only spins from the button in the dashboard.
You set them up through the Interaction Center:
- Open the Interaction Center, create a new Interaction, and tick Spin the Roulette.
- Create an Activity that uses that Interaction, then pick its trigger: gift, likes/tap-tap, share, follow, a specific comment, or donation.
Once connected, the Automatic Triggers panel on the Spin Roulette page lists the active triggers.
If your trigger Interaction has the combo repeat option ticked, one gift combo can fire dozens of spins at once and fill the queue. The dashboard warns about this specifically.
The Automatic Triggers panel also tells you when something is set up wrong:
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| No automatic triggers yet | The wheel only spins from the dashboard button |
| The trigger exists, but is not attached yet | An Interaction has "Spin the Roulette" ticked, but no Activity uses it |
| All triggers are switched off | The Activities exist, but all of their active checkboxes are off |
| Automatic triggers are turned off | The Spin Roulette switch in the Interaction Center is off |
| All Interactions are paused | The wheel can spin, but its prizes won't run |
If one of the prizes on the wheel happens to be a spin trigger too, spins from that prize are deliberately ignored so the wheel doesn't spin forever.
Important settings
The Customize button opens Wheel Settings:
| Setting | What it does | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Winner card stays (seconds) | How long the winner card stays on screen before the panel disappears | Minimum 1 second |
| While the wheel is spinning | Queue or Ignore | Queue means spins triggered while the wheel is running play afterwards. Up to 20 queued |
| Scale in OBS (percent) | Panel size | The panel is built for a 1920×1080 source. Scale it down if your source is smaller |
If viewers have already sent a gift to spin the wheel, Ignore throws that gift away without a spin. Queue makes sure they still see their spin. The 20-spin queue limit is enough for most lives.
Common problems
Symptom: the SPIN THE WHEEL button can't be pressed. The wheel is still empty. Add at least one item.
Symptom: some items never win.
There are two possible causes: their weight is 0, or the number of items exceeds the limit of the design you're using. See Draw Design Gallery.
Symptom: the wheel spins but the prize doesn't run. The All Interactions switch in the Interaction Center is paused.
Symptom: viewers send gifts but the wheel doesn't move. Check the Automatic Triggers panel. Its message tells you exactly what's missing.
